This is my favorite strawberry pie, courtesy of Mom and my godmother, Janet Preus.

====== Ingredients ======
  * Bake and cool 9" pie shell

  * 1 10oz pkg Frozen Strawberries 
  * 5-6 Fresh Strawberries
  * 1/4 cup Water
    * Simmer for 3-4 minutes
   
  * 3 1/2 Tbsp Cornstarch, sifted
  * 1 cup Sugar
    * Add to simmered fruit
    * Cook until syrup is thick  clear, stirring constantly


  * 1 tsp Lemon Juice
    * Add, cool slightly

  * 3 cups (or 3 pints) Fresh Strawberries
  * Whipping Cream, sweetened

====== Directions ======
  - Line baked pastry shell with fresh strawberries
  - Pour simmered fruit over pie
  - Chill thoroughly, uncovered
  - Decorate with sweetened whipped cream 
  - Serve immediately

**For 1 Qt strawberries:**
  * 2 cups Fresh Strawberries
  * 3/4 cup Sugar
  * 3 Tbsp Cornstarch
  * 1/4 cup Water
  * Cook until thick and clear
