French Baguettes

This is another bread recipe from Aunt Alice. We only made regular baguettes together, but she gave me some hints on how to make her parmesan baguettes.

Recipe

  • 1.4 cups warm water
  • 1 pkg yeast
    • Mix and proof
  • 1 tsp cup salt
  • Bread flour
    • Cut into 1 lb loaves
    • Cornstarch on the bottom
    • Spray loaf pans with Pam
    • Bake @350 25-30 minutes

Notes

Original recipe quantities are for a bakery:

  • 10 cups warm water
  • 1/3 cup yeast
    • Mix and proof
  • 1/4 cup salt

Aunt Alice made a dynamite cheese baguette by adding:

  • 1/4-1/2 tsp coarse black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp oregano
  • Parmesan
