Penn Ave Chili
Love this. I spice it up quite a bit sometimes.

Ingredients & Directions
- 1 large Onion, chopped
- 1 Green Pepper, chopped
- 3/4 lb Hamburger
- Brown, drain fat
- 1 lb (2 cups) Diced Tomatoes
- 1 8 oz can Tomato Sauce
- 2 lb Red or Kidney Beans including liquid
- 1.5 tsp Chili Powder
- 1.5 tsp Salt
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 1/3 cup Ketchup
- Dash Cayenne
- Dash Paprika
- Add, cover, simmer 1.5 hours
Notes
- Original recipe lists some additions for a double recipe:
- 1/2 can Tomato Paste
- 1/3 cup Ketchup
- Oregano, mustard Vinegar
- Not sure why original recipe called for adding the bean liquid at the end. I just put it in with the beans and it doesn't seem to hurt anything.
- I've started doubling the recipe but using only 1 lb of ground beef. Not as beefy, but a bit healthier.
Need extra spices used for spicy version.
