Greens Cook Book

This was the first cookbook I ever purchased, which I got in San Francisco while visiting one of my favorite people, Betsy Randolph, after I graduated from college. She was a vegetarian at the time and she took me to Greens Restaurant for dinner. One of the things I liked most about it was that the food was simply good, and didn't try to imitate meat dishes. I know, duh. But it was the first time I'd ever thought about it. It helped that the food was delicious, of course.

The next day Betsy and I were walking in the Castro district when I saw the cookbook in the window of a book store. When I got home, I made a book cover out of a grocery bag like I had to do for my 10th grade biology textbook. I wanted to protect the cover, and to this day, I have no idea if the cover is in good shape or not.
