Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 egg separated
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups chopped walnuts
Directions
- Grease or use parchment paper on jelly roll pan.
- beat butter and brown sugar, add egg yolk, and vanilla. Gradually add flour - press into pan.
- brush with egg white. Press nuts into dough. Bake at 325 approximately 30 minutes until lightly browned. Cut while still warm.
- substitute almonds and almond extract for walnuts and vanilla extract.
