Toffee Diamonds

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg separated
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Grease or use parchment paper on jelly roll pan.
  2. beat butter and brown sugar, add egg yolk, and vanilla. Gradually add flour - press into pan.
  3. brush with egg white. Press nuts into dough. Bake at 325 approximately 30 minutes until lightly browned. Cut while still warm.
  4. substitute almonds and almond extract for walnuts and vanilla extract.
